She was confident, funny, and quick to tease him about the fishing photograph on his profile.

After a few days of messaging, Chloe suggested dinner at an upscale seafood restaurant. Evan agreed but made one point clear before they met: he preferred to split the bill on a first date. Chloe replied almost immediately that the arrangement was fair. Reassured that they understood each other, Evan accepted the restaurant she chose and hoped the evening might become the beginning of something promising.

Chloe arrived wearing a red dress and immediately drew attention. She seemed comfortable in the expensive dining room and told Evan she loved lobster.
